You may remember this guy, sort of. I’ve been doing different versions of him, changing the proportions to see if there’s something I like better. Then I thought, if I use more than one of these in my story, some different proportions can help my reader tell them apart. Cool.

I saw a similar set of proportions on another drawing of a robot this week, and I thought I’d record it in my own little sketchbook. The details need to be totally reworked, but I like the general shapes.
What have I been doing this weekend instead of spending time on robots, or my thesis, or the freelance work I’ve taken on? This homework (below). I’m taking a vector illustration class, and the first assignment is to make a vector drawing from a photo reference of a monster. Yay monsters!
