Did Egyptians wear armor?

So, I’m trying to come up with some sci-fi armor that has a distinct Egyptian look to it, without looking at or accidentally recreating all those cool designs from Stargate. In doing so, I tried finding some reference for ancient Egyptian armor, but I haven’t seen much. It looks like they wore more decorative stuff than protective. Here’s a sketch of one study I did. Sorry it’s so blurry. There’s not much light where I’m working right now…
